Leopold Reif

Leopold Reif is a consultant for international knowledge networks, eLearning, Human Resources Development and Organisational Development at Hoffmann & Reif Consultants, Germany.

In 1992 he launched as the project manager together with 14 partners one of the first large scale corporate cross-border eLearning networks for 40 European enterprises with 1400 learners providing professional courses via computer networks and interactive televison.

From 1995 to 2000 he was engaged at Deutsche Telekom in the development of a national eLearning infrastructure in Germany. In 1996 he was one of the first Telecom experts to introduce eLearning in Asia through a series of conferences and projects.

From 2001 to 2003 he helped to launch knowledge networks for IT consultants in five southern African (Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia) and six Asian countries (Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) with enabling applications for distributed collaboration, research and publishing. He provided 30 workshops on eLearning and eBusiness with hands-on sessions on Open Source based knowledge management systems, undertook more than 200 interviews with IT professionals and eleven assessment centers for further training programmes of German development cooperation programmes.

Today he works for Government agencies in the field of development cooperation in Africa and Asia as well as for European industry clients and provides feasibility studies, strategic consultancy and capacity building in the field of ICT related organisational development.

Leopold has been supporting the Online Educa conferences in Europe and Asia since 1995.
