Leadership for Creating Inclusive Education Systems:
The Role of ICTs
The Third Ministerial Round Table took place in Lusaka, Zambia, on Wednesday, May 26th, 2010, as part of the 5th Pan-African annual eLearning Africa conference. The Ministerial Round Table focused on “Leadership for Creating Inclusive Education Systems: The Role of ICTs”.
eLearning Africa has established itself as the largest capacity building event on ICT for development, education and training in Africa. 2010 ICWE collaborated with the Global eSchools and Communities Initiative (GeSCI), as well as the International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) to facilitate the event and had as it’s aim for the annual Ministerial Round Table:
- To provide an annual forum for African Ministers of Education, Communications / ICTs and Finance as well as Industry Leaders to deliberate further on their national ICT-enhanced education and training programmes,
- To take account of the achievements, challenges, and strategies in modernising national/African educational systems through the use of ICTs, advanced learning and teaching applications, and new technology-enhanced educational services, and
- To highlight good practices in strategy development and programme implementation, provide recommendations and guidelines, and help to maximise the impact of sound ICT-related policies on national/African educational systems.
