eLA Organizers to Speak at International Development Days

Two Canadian speakers of the upcoming eLearning Africa conference have been invited to speak at the upcoming International Development Days (IDD) conference being held from May 22nd to 24th in Fredericton. Gary Stairs, President of Red Hot Learning Inc., Fredericton NB will be speaking on the importance of viewing telecommunications infrastructure and learning technology as key tools for international development over the long term, while simultaneously taking advantage of immediate opportunities.
Mr. Stairs is a member of the international advisory committee for eLearning Africa and the founder and past-president of LearnNB, an association representing 35 companies and institutions that provide products or services in the eLearning market place.
 Dr. Kenneth E. Keirstead President, Lyceum Group
Dr. Kenneth Keirstead, President of Lyceum Group of New Brunswick and Guinea will be speaking in the session entitled Education Sector: Opportunities for Your Organization to Work in or Work with Developing Countries. In addition to his address, Dr. Keirstead will be offering one-on-one meetings with participants during the afternoon of May 23rd.
Organized by CME with support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), IDD highlights the policy framework and opportunities for Canadian companies and organizations to work in developing countries. The theme for this year's conference is "Competing in the Global Marketplace – Developing Countries can be your Company's Biggest Asset and Opportunity".
The event is expected to be well attended with participation from over 250 people from private companies, public-sector organizations, as well as non-governmental and academic agencies based in Canada and internationally. Senior representatives from CIDA, the IFIs, provincial government agencies, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, Industry Canada and other agencies will also be in attendance.
