Teresa Canady is Director of Emerging Markets for Microsoft Learning, a world-class skills development organization reaching millions of Microsoft® customers worldwide with innovative learning products that help individuals and organizations maximize the use of Microsoft technologies.
Canady defines and implements new business approaches to dramatically extend the reach of learning products into developing nations. These learning products include Microsoft certifications and classroom training, Microsoft Press® books, eLearning, and innovative skills development programs.
While at Microsoft, Canady has designed and developed consumer-focused software and tools to facilitate software localization. For the past ten years, she has focused on leading teams to design, develop, localize, and publish technical training and certification products. She recently spent a year in India building a full-time development team for Microsoft Learning in the Microsoft India Development Center in Hyderabad.
Before joining Microsoft in 1993, Canady played various roles in a number of financial institutions, taught mathematics to elementary and secondary students, and kicked off her career in the software field by designing and building consumer-focused CBTs.
Canady holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and computer science from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, and earned a Secondary Teaching Certificate to teach mathematics and computer science. She has also studied theoretical mathematics at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, U.S.
