After completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Ottawa, Gerona taught English in Japan for six years. Upon returning to Canada, she completed an M.B.A. and commenced work at Memorial University. Over the past 10 years Gerona has assumed roles with increasing degrees of responsibility. She has managed Memorial’s distance education course design and development team as well as classroom support and media development. She is currently Project Manager for institutional technology projects and is overseeing the deployment of ePortfolios and blended learning at Memorial University. In addition to her on-campus work, Gerona has participated in international projects in Africa and Asia and hopes to continue building experience internationally. Gerona also teaches as a per-course instructor with the Faculty of Business, Memorial University. In the summer of 2009 she started her doctorate in Education at the University of Calgary.
