Thomson Sinkala

Prof Thomson Sinkala is the Chairman of eLearning Zambia Development Committee (http://elearning-zambia.com/) and is lecturing at the University of Zambia. He is also the Chairman of Biofuels Association of Zambia (www.biofuelszambia.org/) and Managing Director of Biomass Development PLC (www.biomass-plc.com), a company focusing on development of biofuels industry in Zambia.

He was Head of eLearning for the Southern African Network for Training and Research in Environment (SANTREN) (www.santren.com) from 1999 to 2004. He is past Chairperson of the IT@AB (Information Technology in African Business) Network, a network of business and professional organizations in the SADC Region (http://www.it-ab.net). He is past Vice-Chairperson of the Southern African Network for Educational Technology and eLearning for Development (SANTEC) (www.santecnetwork.org). He introduced eLearning course delivery in the project (www.fogartyzambia.org/) funded by the Fogarty International Center of USA involving Copperbelt University in Zambia, University of Arizona in the USA, University of Zambia, and University of Zimbabwe.

Currently, he is coordinating a World Bank funded project in the Zambia’s Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development in which eLearning material for small scale mining industry is being developed.
