| Description | Raising health awareness and health education in resource-poor and remote communities remains a crucial stepping stone to reaching the Millennium Development Goals. This session explores how ICTs enhance health awareness and the delivery of health education to communities, particularly in rural areas. | ICTs are increasingly playing a leading role in innovative projects designed to contribute to peace, security and stability. This session will highlight recent initiatives, involving the imaginative use of technology in a variety of challenging situations. It will also consider the conditions and key factors determining the successful implementation of ICT-based solutions. | How can secured archives be opened up and transformed into an open and free wealth of information? Showcasing several open source repositories, this session highlights how the two elements of data storage and preservation have been extended to include dissemination. | This bilingual session highlights large-scale ICT programmes in various sectors. What planning models apply to conditions in which delivery is a problem? Some countries have already proceeded with large-scale implementation. What can we learn from these experiences?
