Submission of Proposals

Suggestion for a Special Focus Session on a particular topic, which you would like to lead during the conference.

Special Focus Sessions address a particular topic within the eLearning domain and are included in the conference agenda as either 60 or 90 minute sessions. They are linked to the conference themes and allow participants particular insight into a specific area of interest. They will feature a single topic, for example accreditation, standardisation, educational publication, quality control or return-on-investment, and will allow participants the opportunity to participate in a highly specialised discussion on a specific topic.

The organisation of such a session is normally led by someone with particular expertise in the area of interest who, in turn, is responsible in collaboration with the conference organisers for the identification of the those taking part in the session, as well as the agenda and format of the session. Typically these sessions involve elements of knowledge sharing in the form of short presentations, panel discussions and audience participation.

Should the proposal be accepted, the session leader will be asked at a later stage to submit a 1500 word overview for inclusion in the Book of Abstracts, as well as any presentation slides (if relevant) for the Conference CD. The deadline for the receipt of overviews and presentations is Monday, March 17, 2008. A template will be provided for this purpose and also for a photo and short biographical description of the session participants (between 200 and 300 words).
