This session aims to raise awareness about Open Education opportunities for African education. It will discuss best practices and share practical case studies for integrating open education resources in eTeaching and eLearning programmes in Africa. Selected experts will make presentations in the field of Open Education and Intellectual Property. These presentations will be followed by discussion and questions/answers (QA) from the audience. The afternoon workshop will familiarise participants with the MERLOT eLearning repository and will enable participants to develop plans for integrating resourceful multimedia repositories in their institutional/organisational eLearning programmes. The social events will enable participants to network with world experts in the area of Open Education. Forum agenda: |

How to browse the Internet, basic computer skills. |
Outcomes: |
Participants will have a clear understanding of Open Education and its importance in developing eLearning programmes and policies for their respective countries and institutions. The session will provide participants with unique opportunities to network with world experts in the area of Open Education. They will be able to design customised collections of multimedia assets that can be used by their institutions to develop innovative eLearning programmes. Workshop participants will become familiar with how to use the MERLOT eLearning repository and how to be part of itscommuntiy. A primary aim of this workshop is to enable participants to develop plans to integrate MERLOT in their institutional/organisational eLearning programmes. |
