→2023 Host Country & Theme
The 16th Edition of eLearning Africa will be held from 24 – 26 May, 2023 and under the Patronage of H.E. Macky Sall, the President of the Republic of Senegal in Dakar, the booming capital city of Senegal at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre – CICAD. Four government ministries will support the conference: the ministries of Basic Education, Higher Education, Further Education and Training, and Digital Economy.
Senegal has transformed itself into a regional economic powerhouse by focusing its attention on infrastructure. Senegal has one of the highest levels of mobile access in Sub-Saharan Africa. Education and training as an objective of prime importance is central to the political vision of H.E. President Macky Sall. In 2018 the Presidency launched the Emerging Senegal Plan, which supports the steady investment to improve education and training, by enhancing teachers’ needs, learning facilities and infrastructures, education content, research and innovation.
Dakar was, in colonial times, the capital of French West Africa. It is still the political, economic and cultural capital of Senegal, and it retains a strong bond with pan-Africanism, with several museums of African cultural heritage.
