Ines Umuhoza emerged as a Top 5 Ms. Geek Rwanda 2015. She divulges a strong passion for STEM Inclusion, Entrepreneurship, Mentorship, and Edutech. Apart from being the kLab Projects and Communications Manager from 2018 until September 2019, Ms. Ines has been a junior mentor at Tech Women Rwanda from 2015-to 2017 while assisting young women in Rwanda with early-stage startups to compete in the Global Tech Innovation Competition. She also founded the ICT Prodigies Group at Notre Dame de Lourdes Byimana where she spent her 6 years of Secondary School Education. she along with her peers taught Primary school children in rural areas the basics of computer skills and inspired them to pursue their future careers in Technology fields. Ines has also been the Rwanda Program lead for Azubi Africa, a Pan-African cloud computing training center with an aim of creating more cloud inclusion for women and people with disabilities.
Ms. Ines is currently the Director of Programs at Girls in ICT Rwanda where she develops efficiency with enhanced improvements mentorship program that made it possible for girls in rural areas to have access to different opportunities in STEM fields. She enforced the annual organization of Ms. Geek Africa which reached out to 500 Girls in STEM fields who aspire to move their careers to another level and, she is continuously processing the Ms. Geek Africa Alumni integration towards creating mentorship space across Africa to inspire, develop the finalists’ prototypes into viable businesses, guide, and mentor more women in the STEM field. For the past 3 months, Ines represented in San Francisco, through TechWomen Exchange Program in partnership with the US. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs, whereby she has been horning her experience with building successful tech businesses, STEM inclusion, and diversity.
