Rebecca Harrison is the CEO and Co-Founder of the African Management Initiative (AMI), a pan-African organisation that is pioneering a scalable approach to enterprise development, business skills training and workplace learning. Under Rebecca’s leadership, AMI has trained over 26,000 people directly and reached 60,000 users through its online platform, and rolled out over 70 programmes across 15 African countries. It has been featured by CNN Marketplace Africa, Financial Times and Euronews, and listed as one of Africa's "Companies to Inspire" in 2019 by the London Stock Exchange Group.
Rebecca spent 9 years as a foreign correspondent and manager for Reuters News Agency, leading business coverage in Africa and reported from 13 countries in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. She completed her MBA (cum laude) in Entrepreneurship at South Africa’s Gordon Institute of Business Science, where she graduated first in her class and was awarded a Kellogg Foundation grant to research innovation in low-income markets. She also has a BA (Hons, 1st class) from the University of Manchester.
